As well as the previously mentioned Mason Ayre, Kasen Brown and Boyd Fraser, Forest have announced the other scholars to have joined the clubs scholarship program and begin their development with the Under 18 squad.

They are – Okello Bartley – Defender, Daniel Gardner – Defender, Brodie Jones – Midfielder, Jayden Maveso – Defender, Sonny Nolan – Midfielder and Blaine Russell – Midfielder.
All have been at the club since 2018, with the exception of Maveson.

Also believed to be travelling on the pre-season trip to Canada, is Azae Bonnick. The highly rated 15 year old attacking prospect played with the U18s last season, and is expected to be with them this season.

With Tom Mallinson leaving the Under 18s to head up the NFFC Womens First Team, and Warren Joyce leaving the U21/B Team, there seems to be a change of direction coming at the top end of the coaching staff, especially since Craig Mulholland, who has now departed for the Scottish FA, was also taking a big interest. It’ll be interesting to see who Chris McGuane and the others in charge at the Academy side of the club get in to replace them.

The new scholars for the Under 18s are slowly being announced, with arrivals from Manchester City, Glentoran and Hearts, as well as Blaine McClure who was at the club last season, extending his stay until the end of 2026/27 after impressing on loan last season.
